Itinerary Changes


1 - 3 Day Trips

The following tours all take two to three days to complete. All are private, but some can be arranged on a joint basis -- please note that for private tours, minimum number of persons is 2. Collection from and return to your hotel in Chiang Mai will be arranged. Prices vary depending on the number of persons in your group. Children under 12 years receive a 50% discount, and infants under 2 years go free of charge.

2 Days

Day 1
After breakfast, leave your hotel for the 30 minute drive to visit the Mae Sa Elephant Camp. Here, you will see how the elephants work and a demonstration of their skills in painting flowers on canvas (This is in the Believe it or Not record). After that we will head to Chiang Dao cave filled with grottos, Bhudda images and many legends. After that we will head to visit a Hmong Tribal village at Huay Luk before proceeding on to Mae Ai. In the mountains we will visit a Lahu Tribal village and an Army base (safe and very beautiful) before coming down to stay at a hotel along the river in Tha Ton.

Day 2
Leave from the hotel for the 25 minute drive to visit the Long Necked Karen village in the valley of Mae Chan before heading to Mae Sai, the Thailand-Myanmar border town, for some shopping around this bustling market. From the border we will head to the Golden Triangle where you will see beautiful scenery from the top of a hill in the area. You will have a chance to take a long tail boat along the Mae Khong river to visit a Lao village in the middle of the river. We will head back to Chiang Mai in the late afternoon.

3 Days

Day 1
Leave Chiang Mai early in the morning, heading north to the Mae Sa Elephant Camp to see the most fantastic elephant show in Chiang Mai. After that visit Chiang Dao Caves, filled with colorful grottoes, splendid Buddha images, and many legends. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Chiang Dao. After lunch, we will head to Mae Ai and drive up the mountains to visit a Lahu Tribal village and an Army base (safe and very beautiful) before coming down to stay at a hotel along the Mae Kok river in Tha Ton village.

Day 2
Leave the village in the morning for the 20 minute drive to visit Tha Ton temple, which sits on a hill and provides excellent views over the surrounding countryside, before heading to visit the Long Necked Tribal village in the valley. After that continue by boat to Chiang Rai, stopping off along the way at tribal villages and a hot spring where you can enjoy a rejuvenating bath in the natural mineral water. We will get to Chiang Rai in the afternoon.

Day 3
Check out from the hotel in Chiang Rai, then we will travel by van to the Doi Tung Royal Villa of the King's Mother to visit the Flower Garden and the Villa where she stayed when she was alive. Afterwards, we will head to Mae Sai, the border between Thailand and Burma, where you will have a chance to explore the bustling market. Continue on to the Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Myanmar and Laos meet on the Mae Khong River. Here, the Opium Museum tells the story of opium cultivation, trade and smuggling in the area. After that you will take a long-tail boat along the Mae Khong river at the Golden Triangle to visit the Lao village for some souvenirs. The sun set is very impressive on this island. Return to Chiang Mai in the late evening.


C13
2 Days

Take the short flight over the mountains to remote Mae Hong Sorn Province. The beautiful town on Jong Kham lake will be your base for two days. Visit two caves and Hmong and Lisu villages. Take in the unusual temples of the town, which show much Burmese influence. On the second day, board a boat for a journey along the river towards the Myanmar border to visit the Long Neck Padaung tribe. Fly back to Chiang Mai in the afternoon. Hotel, air tickets, transport, lunches and guide are all included in our unbeatable price.
